2025 #GetNaked Spokesperson, Ian Michael Crumm, Headlines as Emcee for the Annual New York Miles for Melanoma 5K Event

The Melanoma Research Foundation Launches its Annual New York 5K Fundraiser with a Goal of $80,000 in Support of its Mission

New York, NY (August 25, 2025) The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to announce the next event in its annual Miles for Melanoma nationwide 5K program, bringing together local melanoma patients, supporters, care partners and thrivers. This year we will be hosting our annual New York event on Saturday, September 13 at Pier 45 at 7:30 AM ET. Opening Ceremonies will start at 8:30 AM ET and our race will kick off promptly at 9:00 AM ET. We are excited to share that Ian Michael Crumm, the MRF’s 2025 #GetNaked Spokesperson and Celebrity Esthetician, will be returning as our emcee on event day! With Ian’s combined love for education and beauty, he is committed to using his knowledge as an esthetician and his platform to create change. Amidst his exploration of colorful beauty and serious skincare, he found a passion in promoting the benefits of year-round sun safety and skin cancer prevention.

We are also excited to share that Local Sponsor, Northwell Cancer Institute, will be hosting on-site and complimentary skin screenings on event day – a vital step in early detection and prevention!

The 5K walk/run will bring together the New York melanoma community with a goal of raising $80,000 in support of critical melanoma research.

In addition to raising essential funds to support melanoma research, this event helps elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of cutaneous melanoma and educate about rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks.

The MRF team is thrilled to welcome a wide range of new and returning local and national sponsors to the New York event this September. The 2025 local sponsors include Castle Biosciences, EltaMD, Iovance Biotherapeutics, Northwell Cancer Institute and Pfizer. Our National Prevention Partner is Neutrogena and our National Apparel Partner is Coolibar

All in-person and registered participants will receive our Miles for Melanoma UPF50+ Coolibar shirt. To register for this year’s event, visit 2025 New York Miles for Melanoma – Melanoma Research Foundation. Regular rate registration will close on Wednesday, September 10 at 11:59 pm ET.
