The Melanoma Research Foundation to Host the 2023 NYC Miles for Melanoma 5K!
New York, NY (October 5, 2023) – The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to announce the next event in its annual Miles for Melanoma nationwide 5K program, bringing together local melanoma patients, survivors, care partners and survivors. This year we will be hosting our annual NYC event on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 8:30am ET.
We are thrilled to announce that our upcoming event has found an exciting new home on Governors Island! Attendees will have the opportunity to take the Governors Island Ferry across the New York Harbor which will run every 30 minutes beginning at 7am ET. In other good news, Delcath is sponsoring as a Local Presenting Sponsor, showing significant support for the Ocular Melanoma Community. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Merck will be reprising their role as a Local Presenting Sponsor on Saturday.
This 5K walk/race will bring together the NYC melanoma community with a goal of raising $70,000 for melanoma research.
In addition to raising essential funds to support melanoma research, this event helps elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of cutaneous melanoma and educate about rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks.
The MRF team is thrilled to welcome a wide range of local presenting and national sponsors to the NYC event this October. Local sponsors include Bristol Myers Squibb, Castle Biosciences, Delcath, Novartis, Merck and Pfizer. National sponsors include National Prevention Sponsor Neutrogena and National Apparel Partner Cabana Life.
