The Melanoma Research Foundation to Hold San Francisco Miles for Melanoma 5K in Support of the Melanoma Community

San Francisco, CA (November 4, 2022) The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is proud to announce that for the first time, this year’s San Francisco Miles for Melanoma 5K will be located at the San Francisco Zoo, including free admission to the Zoo following the event! The race will be held on Sunday, November 13th.

Miles for Melanoma is a nationwide annual 5K event series that celebrates local melanoma patients, thrivers and caregivers. This year, the San Francisco melanoma community will unite to raise $40,000 in support of critical melanoma research. To date, this community has raised over $24,700. All registered participants will receive free access to the Zoo following the race, allowing a day full of fun and bonding amongst teams and the San Francisco melanoma community as a whole.

In addition to raising essential funds to support melanoma research, this event helps elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of both cutaneous (skin) melanoma and rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks.

The MRF team is pleased to welcome the Miles for Melanoma national sponsors to San Francisco, including Neutrogena, Coolibar and Pfizer

Register to attend the San Francisco Miles for Melanoma 5K event here by Thursday, November 10th, 11:59 PM PT. On-site registration will also be available on event day.
