The Melanoma Research Foundation Returns to Atlanta for 2022 Miles for Melanoma 5k
Atlanta, GA (November 2, 2022) – The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to return to Georgia for the Atlanta Miles for Melanoma 5k, held on Sunday, November 6th at Piedmont Park.
Miles for Melanoma is a nationwide annual 5K event series that tours the country to celebrate local melanoma patients, thrivers and caregivers. This year, the Atlanta melanoma community will unite to raise $35,000 in support of critical melanoma research. To date, the Atlanta community has already raised over $26,000.
In addition to raising essential funds to support melanoma research, this event helps elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of both cutaneous (skin) melanoma and rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks.
The MRF team is pleased to welcome a wide range of local and national sponsors to Atlanta including the Dermatology Associates of Georgia, Bristol Myers Squibb, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute and Novartis. National sponsors include Neutrogena, Coolibar and Pfizer.
