Melanoma Research Foundation Welcomes Mark Nolan as Emcee of Cleveland Miles for Melanoma 5K

Majic WMJI Morning Show Host Lends Support to Eradicate Melanoma at Upcoming 5k Race

Cleveland, OH (July 28, 2022) The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to announce that Mark Nolan, broadcaster of the Majic WMJI 105.7, Cleveland’s greatest hits station, will serve as the Opening Ceremonies emcee of the Cleveland Miles for Melanoma 5k program on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Edgewater Park beginning at 8:30am ET. The 5k walk/race will bring together the Cleveland and Ohio-area melanoma community with a goal of raising $100,000 in support of critical melanoma research.

Nolan started his broadcast career doing weather for WMJI, which led to filling in on air shifts on stations WGAR and WMJI, which then resulted in him officially joining the weekday Majic morning show Nolan, Malone and Kullik in 2014. A 1991 graduate of Kent State University, the downtown Cleveland resident also serves as weekday anchor for WOIO news. Mark’s presence on the air and his ability to create and convey discussion on numerous topics of interest strongly connects with listeners.

The annual Miles 5k helps to raise essential funds to support melanoma research and elevates public awareness around early detection and prevention of cutaneous melanoma and rare melanoma subtypes. The program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks. The Cleveland Miles local presenting sponsor, Cleveland Clinic and Case Comprehensive Cancer Center will provide complimentary on-site full body skin checks to all registered participants on event day.

The MRF team is thrilled to welcome a wide range of local presenting and national sponsors to the Cleveland event this August. The 2022 local sponsors include Cleveland Clinic, Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, Associates in Dermatology Inc, Metro Health, Parker Hannifin Corp, Angie Fowler Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Institute courtesy of the Fowler Family, Castle Biosciences, Meijer, Apex Dermatology, North Star, Ground Works Design, Michael C. Pophal, Esq, LLC, Kelman, Moses, Seifert & Hartstein and OHG Design. The 2022 national sponsors include Neutrogena, Coolibar, Pfizer and Bristol Myers Squibb
