Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day from your friends at the MRF!

Whether it's celebrating lasting romance or the deep bonds between best friends, this holiday is a timely reminder to cherish the friends, partners, families and loved ones who are, were and forever will hold a place in our hearts. If your perfect Valentine’s Day is an evening of candlelit elegance, a quiet night at home or just a regular Thursday, here’s how you can show some love, no Cupid required:

1. Instead of flowers and candy, consider giving support to a cause near to your loved one’s (or your own) heart. Longer lasting than roses and with fewer calories than chocolate, a tax-deductible donation to the MRF supports the life-saving research and support resources that allow patients and their loved ones to celebrate more holidays together. However, if your loved one has been dropping hints and you want to also give a traditional gift, remember that when you shop at AmazonSmile, a portion of all sales are donated to the MRF!

2. Making a romantic dinner reservation at a popular new restaurant or the spot where you had your first date? Once you book the perfect table, keep your calendar out and make an appointment for a yearly dermatologist visit and dilated eye exam for yourself and a loved one. Yearly checks (or more often if your doctor recommends) are critical to catch melanoma when it is most treatable. Already have an appointment on the books? Don’t forget to #GetNaked once a month for a full body self-skin check on yourself or a partner.

3. Consider a public display of affection! Update your Facebook profile picture with Valentine’s Day themed #GetNaked and #EyeGetDilated profile pic frames and share a post about why melanoma awareness is important to you. While you're there, check out our "Kiss Melanoma Goodbye" Facebook fundraiser! Can you help us raise $1,400 in the 14 days that are left in the month?
