Study Finds News Hope for Prevention of Melanoma

The MRF is committed to funding research for finding new treatments that will make a meaningful impact on survival for melanoma patients and understanding ways to improve prevention of the disease.  Part of these efforts includes funding promising research initiatives, one of which generated exciting findings in understanding how ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes melanoma.  The study was published in the January 2011 issue of Nature and the researchers believe that the results of this study will lead to effective prevention strategies against UV radiation-induced melanoma.
