2008 Melanoma Advocacy Award
– A Statement by the Melanoma Research Foundation –
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – The following is a statement by the Melanoma Research Foundation about an award received for the organization’s work in the area of melanoma advocacy.
On May 2, 2008 the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) received the 2008 Melanoma Advocacy Award from the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania at the 5th Annual Focus on Melanoma Conference recognizing its support of cutting-edge melanoma research and improvements in quality of life for melanoma survivors. Linda Pilkington, Executive Director of the Melanoma Research Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation commented, “We are truly honored to receive such a prestigious award from one of the foremost research institutions in the country. We remain dedicated to supporting the scientific community in its efforts to explore innovative approaches to understanding melanoma and its treatment, which may ultimately lead to a cure.”
