MRF Ask a Nurse Program.

Secure the future of critical melanoma research by making a bequest to the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) in your will or living trust. Whether you add the MRF to your existing will or trust or create a will for free online through our partner, FreeWill, your gift ensures ongoing support for vital melanoma research initiatives.

Why Ask the MRF Nurse?

If you’re 70 1/2 years or older, consider making a gift to the MRF directly from your IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). In many cases, IRA giving is 100% tax-free for eligible donors and represents one of the smartest ways you can support the MRF’s work because it allows you to give and save. For those who must take Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), an IRA gift can also count towards your RMD, without counting toward your taxable income for the year!

We've Got Answers.

Consider donating appreciated stock and securities to support melanoma research and care through the MRF. This method is both cost-effective and tax-smart. You could be eligible for a tax deduction based on the full fair-market value of your donation and avoid paying capital gains tax.

Ask away. We've got the answers you’re looking for.

Introducing the MRF’s Nurse, Whitney Baylor!
Whitney Baylor, MSN, RN, AONN-CG, joined the Melanoma Research Foundation team in December 2022. She graduated from The University of Colorado with a Master’s in Science of Nursing and has worked directly with melanoma patients for essentially her entire nursing career. Prior to joining the MRF, Whitney was the Nurse Navigator in the Melanoma Department at UC Health at Anschutz. She recently switched gears and went to work as a school RN in order to be able to spend more time with her family. Whitney’s passion for educating newly diagnosed melanoma patients along with being a point person for the additional support often needed during melanoma treatment has allowed Whitney to provide a positive experience for hundreds of melanoma patients in Colorado and the surrounding states for over ten years.
