JOB SUMMARY:
The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is seeking a motivated Education Logistics Intern to support the Education and Patient Engagement team in executing high-quality patient and caregiver programs. This intern will play a hands-on role in the end-to-end logistics of MRF educational events, including patient symposia, conferences, and virtual programs across cutaneous and rare melanoma subtypes such as ocular, acral, mucosal, and AYA melanoma. This is an ideal opportunity for a student with interests in public health, nonprofit management, event coordination, or patient education to gain practical experience in a mission-driven healthcare organization.

Core Responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Logistics and Coordination
- Support planning and execution of patient symposia, conferences and educational events from start to finish
- Maintain and update event logistics tracking sheets with accurate timelines and details
- Assist with packing, shipping and returns for all event materials, including signage, name tags, printed collateral, and promotional items
- Coordinate with vendors on catering, AV and venue needs; assist in researching and vetting options within budget
Registration and Attendee Management
- Create and maintain event registration pages, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
- Monitor and categorize registrants (in-person vs. virtual) and provide updates to partner organizations upon request
- Prepare registration lists, name tags and attendee folders before each event
- Assist with pre- and post-event logistics for Ask the Expert sessions and other virtual programming
Educational Materials and Inventory
- Manage shipping and inventory tracking for educational materials and communication with orders
- Ensure materials are distributed across relevant programs and departments
- Help print and ship flyers, postcards and event collateral
- Restock supplies proactively to avoid last-minute shortages
Communications and Meetings
- Attend planning meetings and provide logistics updates to the team
- Draft and send pre- and post-event communications as directed
- Bring all questions, concerns, or vendor issues to the program lead (Education Program Manager/Senior Education Program Manager, Director of Education and Patient Engagement, or designee) in a timely manner
Requirements & Qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to exceptional service for patients, caregivers, and partners
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Interest in oncology, rare disease, or patient advocacy preferred
- Experience with event registration platforms or CRM systems preferred
- Comfort with data entry, mail merge, or spreadsheet management preferred
- Prior internship or volunteer experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or event coordination setting preferred
