Education Program Manager for Rare Melanoma Subtypes
Caroline Glavin, MSW, joined the Melanoma Research Foundation in June 2025 as the Education Program Manager for Rare Melanoma Subtypes. In this role, she is dedicated to developing educational resources and support for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals affected by rare melanoma subtypes, including mucosal, ocular, acral lentiginous and pediatric and adolescent and young adult (AYA) melanoma. Caroline is passionate about raising awareness, building community and advocating for the needs of those impacted by rare melanomas, ensuring they have access to supportive and empowering information and resources.
She earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University and previously worked at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. There, she supported caregivers and patients, facilitated multiple support groups and played a key role in organizing the annual Cancer Survivor Day celebration. Her work focused on providing emotional support, developing educational programming and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient and caregiver experience.
Caroline’s approach is grounded in empathy, advocacy and a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families as they navigate their cancer journey with compassion and care.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys cheering on Philly sports teams, spending time with her favorite people and relaxing at home with her silly cat, Frankie.
