The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is dedicated to working with policymakers at the federal, state and local level on issues related to melanoma prevention, access to care, research funding, and awareness of this disease and our community.

Advocacy Over the Years
CURRENTLY THERE ARE 1.4 MILLION AMERICANS LIVING WITH MELANOMA. WITH THE HELP OF OUR ADVOCATES, THE MRF HAS:
- Secured millions in dedicated research funding for melanoma from the federal Defense budget
- Participated in multiple listening sessions with the FDA on issues such as ocular melanoma, indoor tanning beds and sunscreen filter approval
- Successfully advocated for No Copay legislation for skin cancer screenings in Florida and Illinois
- Increased access to sunscreen in schools
- Successfully advocated for state bans on indoor tanning beds for minors

Advocacy Priorities
