Dave Wiemer

Dave has been the Director of Philanthropy since joining the Melanoma Research Foundation in September of 2024, working with individual donors, families and foundations to raise support of melanoma research, education and advocacy. Dave came to the MRF with more than 16 years of fundraising experience, most recently as the Senior Gifts Officer, Philanthropy for the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has worked in individual major gifts at American University, the American Humane Association, and the American Battlefield Trust. Prior to working as a nonprofit fundraiser, Dave worked in television production as an assistant in primetime television writers’ offices in Los Angeles. Dave has a bachelor’s degree in US History from Northwestern University, and a master’s degree in public administration from American University. Dave lives in Reston, Virginia with his wife Cindy and their big, blended family of five children and a dog. Dave loves to travel, play guitar in a “dad band,” and root for Chicago sports teams.
