Update: Maloney PRCRP Letter Submitted to House Appropriations Committee

In September, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), a vocal advocate for federal melanoma research funding, drafted a letter asking the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations Defense Subcommittee agree to the Senate level for the Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP) in conference on the final version of the Fiscal 2015 Defense Appropriations bill. This would bring the funding level for the program to $50 million.

If passed, this would mean a significant increase in funding available for melanoma research and other rare cancers included in this program.

Thanks to the efforts of our advocates and others in the melanoma community, the letter was signed by 20 additional members of Congress!
