The Melanoma Research Foundation to Host the 2023 Atlanta Miles for Melanoma 5K!

Atlanta, GA (October 12, 2023) – The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to announce the next event in its annual Miles for Melanoma nationwide 5K program, bringing together local melanoma patients, care partners and survivors. This year we will be hosting our annual Atlanta event on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Brook Run Park at 8:30am ET.

We are eager to announce that Rachel Russaw, Miss Georgia USA 2023 and Denim Lovett, Miss Teen Georgia USA 2023 will be emceeing the event this year! They will kick off the event with opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30am ET. In addition, Local Sponsor, Dermatology Associates of Georgia, will be providing on-site and complimentary skin screenings on event day and Northside Hospital will be returning as a Local Presenting Sponsor.

This 5K walk/race will bring together the Atlanta melanoma community with a goal of raising $45,000 for melanoma research.

In addition to raising essential funds to support melanoma research, this event helps elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of cutaneous melanoma and educate about rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks.

The MRF team is thrilled to welcome a wide range of local presenting and national sponsors to the Atlanta event this October. Local sponsors include Bristol Myers Squibb, Castle Biosciences, Dermatology Associates of Georgia, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute and Novartis. National sponsors include National Prevention Sponsor Neutrogena and National Apparel Partner Cabana Life.

All in-person and registered participants will receive a 2023 UPF 50+ race shirt provided by our NEW National Apparel Partner, Cabana Life. Register to attend the Atlanta Miles for Melanoma 5K event here by Thursday, October 26th, 2023, at 11:59PM ET.
