Melanoma Research Foundation Welcomes Wren Clair as Emcee of 2022 Twin Cities Miles for Melanoma 5K

Minneapolis Meteorologist Returns as Voice of 2022 Twin Cities Miles 5k

Twin Cities, MN (August 11, 2022) The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is thrilled to announce that 5 Eyewitness News Evening Meteorologist, Wren Clair will host and emcee the Opening Ceremonies of the Twin Cities Miles for Melanoma 5k program on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Lake Phalen Park beginning at 8:30am CT. The 5k walk/race will bring together the Twin Cities and Minnesota-area melanoma community with a goal of raising $30,000 in support of critical melanoma research.

Wren began her career in Broadcast Meteorology in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. She worked and lived in Rhinelander, Wisconsin where she forecasted during a handful of snowstorms, and frequently covered lake effect snow off of Lake Superior. Wren left “America’s Dairyland” for Boston, where she covered about a dozen Nor’easters throughout her time in New England. A few coverage events included Boston’s February 2017 Blizzard, and historic flooding from the “bomb cyclone” January 4th of 2018. Today, Wren continues her career as a beloved Evening Meteorologist on 5 Eyewitness News in Minneapolis. The MRF is grateful to welcome Wren back for this year’s Twin Cities Miles for Melanoma.

The annual 5k event helps to both raise essential funds to support melanoma research and elevate public awareness around early detection and prevention of cutaneous melanoma and rare melanoma subtypes. The Miles for Melanoma program also highlights the importance of sun safety and scheduling annual dermatological skin checks. The Miles strength sponsor, Allina Health, will be providing on-site skin checks to all registered participants on event day.

The MRF team is thrilled to welcome a wide range of local presenting and national sponsors to the Twin Cities event. The 2022 local sponsors include Minnesota Oncology, Allina Health and Dermatology Specialists and national sponsors include Neutrogena, Coolibar, Pfizer and Novartis.

Register to attend the Twin Cities Miles for Melanoma 5K event here and receive a sun safe shirt from Coolibar!
