Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and for many people it is an opportunity to cherish the friends, partners, families and loved ones who are, were and forever will be tied to our hearts. Whether you prefer Valentine’s Day to be a big production, a quiet night at home or just another Wednesday, here are some ideas to help you make the most of it:

1. Instead of flowers and candy, consider giving the gift of support for a cause near to your loved one’s (or your own) heart. Longer lasting than flowers and with fewer calories than chocolate, a donation to the MRF supports the life-saving research, education and support resources that allow patients and their loved ones to celebrate more holidays together.

2. Searching all over town for a romantic dinner reservation? Once you book the perfect table, keep your calendar out and make an appointment for a yearly dermatologist visit and dilated eye exam for yourself and a loved one. Regular exams are critical to catch melanoma early when it is most treatable, and don’t forget to #GetNaked once a month to check yourself or a partner.

3. Make a public display of affection! Download a Valentine’s Day sign, write a message of love for yourself, a friend or family member, and then share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – don’t forget to tag the MRF!

4. Print and hand out MRF Valentines. Show someone that you’re thinking about them and are committed to staying healthy together.

Happy Valentine’s Day from your friends at the MRF!
