FY17 Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program Announcements Released

The MRF is pleased to report that the Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program (PRCRP) announcements—the Career Development Award, Idea Award with Special Focus, and the Transitional Team Science Award—have been published on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) website.

The PRCRP was created in fiscal year 2009 to decrease the impact of cancer on American service members, their families and the general public by advancing research in cancer prevention, detection and treatment. As part of this approval, several cancers, including melanoma, are eligible to compete for funding under this program.

This year, $60 million is available to fund innovative new research and we encourage the scientific community to take advantage of this funding opportunity. Please refer to the Synopsis of FY17 PRCRP Award Mechanisms for instructions and application deadlines. PLEASE NOTE: The Transitional Team Science Award and the Idea Award with Special Focus require applicants to submit a pre-proposal by 5pm EST June 30, 2017.
