Announcement: CURE OM Symposium MOVED to Fall 2020

Dear friends and colleagues,

March 12, 2020 – The Melanoma Research Foundation’s (MRF) CURE OM initiative has been informed that onsite events at MD Anderson Cancer Center have been cancelled for the next 8 weeks as an active precaution to the emergence of COVID-19. No visitors will be allowed on campus during this time and travel by MD Anderson staff will be restricted. Similar policies are being enacted by universities, medical centers and large organizations across the US in an abundance of caution. As a result, the Eyes on a Cure: Patient & Caregiver Symposium will be MOVED to Fall 2020, with an exact date to be confirmed in the coming days. The MRF recommends updating your travel and lodging arrangements at the earliest possible convenience.

The MRF shares MD Anderson’s disappointment that the symposium will be delayed, while understanding the necessity of the decision. Rescheduling the in-person meeting is already underway and we are exploring virtual meeting options to share select presentations and discussions in the meantime. Final details on both will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we support this decision to prioritize the safety and well-being of patients, caregivers and medical professionals in the current health landscape. If you have any questions related to the CURE OM symposium postponement, please email [email protected].

Sincerely,
